Florence Noel,

Founder of The World is Gluten Free (WGF)

<font size = 6><b>Florence Noel,</b></font size><p><font size =4>Founder of <b>The World is Gluten Free (WGF)<font size></b></p>
Florence has a passion for food and all things gluten free. Diagnosed with Celiac Disease over 10 years ago, she has endured a number of the difficult symptoms associated with the disease. These trials have prompted her to start her a personal journey of healthy transformation. During this 10+ year journey, Florence has gained a wealth of knowledge about navigating the gluten free lifestyle with joy and fulfillment. She is an avid traveler (20 states and 4 continents!) and researcher who has amassed a remarkable list of gluten free locations, recipes, products and other resources. The World is Gluten Free was born of her desire to share these resources with the millions of Gluten Freers all over the world who are undergoing their own healthy transformation. Her advice in short: Keep going!

In addition to founding The World is Gluten Free, Florence graduated from Duke University with a double major in English and African/African American Studies. A Haitian-American, Florence believes deeply in the power of community building and paying it forward. She has over 10 years experience working within the educational non-profit sector with urban youth and low-income families in Durham, North Carolina, New York city's 5 boroughs, and Westchester County, NY. During her career in the non-profit sector, she has already worked with over 10,000 youth and families (and counting)!
Jessica Jones,

WGF Contributor & Co-Founder of Food Heaven Made Easy

Jessica Jones is a New York City-based Nutrition Educator with a passion for teaching marginalized communities about healthy and sustainable food choices. As a Senior Nutritionist for the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Jones has conducted hundreds of nutrition education workshops and cooking demonstrations for over 1,500 underserved New York City residents. The California Native received a B.A. in Journalism from San Francisco State University, and has penned hundreds of articles about food, health and culture for publications like the Village Voice, Time Out New York, amNew York, among other notable publications.

Together with Wendy Lopez, Jessica has created Food Heaven Made Easy with Wendy and Jess, a monthly web series that provides viewers with a wealth of nutrition information and demonstrations on how to create healthy vegetarian dishes that are nutrient dense and energy rich!

Abraham Singer,

Abraham is an activist and graduate student based in Canada. He has received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English from the University of Toronto and a Masters degree in Political Science from University of Illinois at Chicago, in 2007 and 2010 respectively. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto, where he is examining social democracy and alternative economics.

A life long activist, Abraham has worked for organizations such as Urban Homesteading Assistance Board in New York City, where he has worked to preserve affordable housing. He is also a filmaker who has created informative and exploratory pieces such as 'Who is Deutschland?', looking at politics, identity and soccer in Germany during the World Cup.

Abraham has been a supporter of the Gluten Free movement for several years, since finding out that many of his friends required the gluten free diet.

Wendy Lopez,

WGF Contributor & Co-Founder of Food Heaven Made Easy

<b><font size = 5>Wendy Lopez</b>,<p></font size> <font size = 4>WGF Contributor & <i>Co-Founder of <b>Food Heaven Made Easy</a></b></p></i></font size>
Wendy strives to bridge the gap between food, health, and community through her experiences providing nutrition education workshops for children, adolescents, and families. As a former consultant for the Department of Health, she worked with the Green Carts program to increase availability of fresh fruits and vegetables in schools within low-access neighborhoods. Currently working as a health educator and case manager for a suicide prevention program, Wendy builds with young Latina women, exploring how food and health have a direct impact on the mind and body. She is on her way to pursuing a M.S. in Nutrition at Hunter College, with the purpose of enriching community healing through holistic health.

Together with Jessica Jones, Wendy has created Food Heaven Made Easy with Wendy and Jess, a monthly web series that provides viewers with a wealth of nutrition information and demonstrations on how to create healthy vegetarian dishes that are nutrient dense and energy rich!
